Casino software developer Playtech is tipped to soon sign Betfair as a licensee of it's casino / poker / bingo software platform.
Playtech lays claim to being the world's largest online casino software developer with over a hundred licensee casinos including some of the biggest names in the gambling world. And they don't get much bigger or better known that the Betfair...the UK based online betting exchange that has taken the sports betting world by storm.
Earlier this year, Playtech added William Hill to its list of licensee casinos in a deal that had a significant impact on the group's bottom line. A deal with Betfair will likely also make a material difference to their revenues.
Rumor has it Betfair will ditch their existing poker and casino platforms, Poker Champs and Chartwell Technology respectively, in preference to Playtech's all-in-one offering, including bingo. The Playtech platform will also give Betfair the opportunity to add live dealer casino games and mobile casino games to their offering, making them a truly full service online gambling operation.
An official announcement on the deal is expected to be made on the London Stock Exchange in coming days.
