Just a year after launching Sega casino has closed its doors to players and shut up shop.
Owned by video gaming giant SEGA Games Limited, Sega Casino and Sega Poker went online back in October 2009 amid much industry fanfare. With all the right ingredients for success including substantial corporate support the casino was tipped to become a major player in the industry.
Only a few months ago Sega corporation flagged their new casino as a major growth area, so it came as a surprise to many when late last month they stopped taking player registrations and issued emails to existing players notifying them of the impending closure.
Apparently an internal risk assessment is at the root of the decision. Problems with the reliability of the website and customer service technical issues that were unable to be fixed have been mooted as possible contributing factors.
Either way Sega casino online is now closed for business.
