Here's a novel promo. Sunpoker are giving away a series of prizes as they near the milestone of hosting their 2 billionth hand of online poker.
The cash and prize give away starts at hand number 1,990,000,000, expected to be any time now, and will see winner of 'golden' and 'platinum' hands, and of course the final 2 billionth hand getting a share of the give-away.
Golden hands are at 500,000 increments from the start hand (ie 1,990,500,000; 1,991,000,000 and so on). Platinum hands are those played every 2,500,000th.
Winners are of golden hands will be get, in a addition to their winning pot of course, a cash prize of up to $1,000 depending on table stakes and a seat at the Monthly Million Guaranteed Tournament on January 10 2010 valued at $535. Winners of platinum hands get the tourney seat and a cash prize of up to $2,000 depending on table stakes.
Participants in the 2 billionth hand share a cash/prize pool of $100,000 regardless of table stakes. The winner of the hand will get $60,000 in cash and prizes in the form of $40,000 cash, a seat at WSOP 2010 Main Event ($13,000 value) and an Irish Open 2010 package valued a $7,000.
The winner also gets a cut of the $40,000 participants split, and (if the hand is played before December 5), entry to ECOOP V Main Event, on December 6th, 2009, valued at $1,580.
So the big question is approximately when will this hand be played? Well, presumably early December but to get a better idea you'll need to watch the winners board of gold and platinum hand winners to see get an idea of hand progression.
