TABCORP and the Singapore Turf Club will be merging their betting pools from next year in an agreement announced yesterday.
TABCORP has already expanded pools and wagering offerings to customers with merged or 'co-mingled' pools arrangements with both South African and New Zealand race tote's. This arrangement will give TABCORP customers access to bets on races run by the STC as well as offer Singapore punters a buy-in to Australian races.
Under the arrangement TabCorp will guest into Singapore’s pools as well as hosting hosting Singaporean pools for betting on Australian racing. Punters not only get access to more races, but importantly an enlarged betting pool from which parimutual odds are calculated. The larger the pool, the more stable the odds and the less likely they are to be moved by single large wagers.
Yu Pang Fey, SCT CEO, said of the arrangement, 'We are delighted to enhance our business partnership with TabCorp once again, this time in the co-mingling of the Singapore and Australian pools'.
While Robert Nason, Tabcorp's CEO stated, 'TabCorp and the Singapore Turf Club have worked hard to make our partnership a commercial success and the co-mingling of our tote pools is the next exciting step'.
